Who we're looking for

If you've just finished school or college, and gained A-levels or BTECs, and you're not sure that university is for you, then our Workplace Services Apprenticeship Programme provides you with a chance to take the first step in your career and earn while you learn. 


You'll be part of our Workplace Services team within our infrastructure business helping to provide critical services that support our wider business. So we're looking for someone who is eager to learn, has a flair for providing excellent customer service and enjoys working in a fast paced environment.


You will get hands-on experience with the different technologies we use, find out how the Workplace Services team operates and services our people within Schroders as well as working towards your Level 2 Facilities Management Supervisor qualification.

The base

We moved into our new HQ in the City of London in 2018. We're close to our clients, in the heart of the UK's financial centre. We offer flexible working appropriate for a client solutions focussed role.


The team

Schroders Facilities Management team (part of Workplace Services) provides Security, Travel and Contract Management, building and services operation & maintenance support to the Schroders Group. This includes, property management, project management and space planning (globally), delivery and management; internal and external client relationship management; environmental management and reporting; records management; front of house and client experience, operational finance and budget management; and travel management. 


The team also has responsibility for large and small scale project works and business as usual change initiatives.


What you'll do

As a Schroders apprentice, you will spend 20% of your time working towards achieving the Level 2 Facilities Management Supervisor qualification, the rest of your time will be spent working with your team and gaining the skills you need to build your expertise. Some of the tasks and projects you'll be involved in are:

Supporting co-ordination of office support for all UK Schroders offices (London, Horsham, Oxford, Chester and Edinburgh for all facilities related matters i.e. contracts, services, maintenance, cleaning and other building related issues

Carrying out building audits to ensure our Outsourced Service Providers are meeting expectations and that the building fabric is maintained to a high standard

Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders and being the first point of contact for ad-hoc queries through the team’s shared mailbox

Working with the team to coordinate activities and logistics supporting a number of different business areas within Schroders

Supporting environmental and corporate responsibility related initiatives, guidance and reporting and supporting the local Corporate Responsibility committee as required

Assisting the team on compliance with internal and external regulations on buildings, office space, safety and security

Managing day-to-day contractual relationship with respective service providers and suppliers for Facility Management services

Work alongside the management team to develop new ideas using research and analysis to make improvements to existing services, methods, and policies

Monitoring feedback and client satisfaction, relaying information promptly to the team


The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

You'll have at least 96 UCAS points and be 18 years old by Monday 7 September 2020 to apply for the 2020 intake
