We are looking for an engaged and enthusiastic intern to join our Operational Risk team in a diverse and international environment. This internship provides the opportunity to contribute to various risk management tasks and gain valuable hands-on experience in the financial services industry. You will be exposed to different aspects of the Operating Model in a Management Company based in Luxembourg.

The team

Within Schroders, the Operational Risk team oversees the operational risk management framework for Schroders Investment Management Europe (SIM EU) and its branches. The team's key responsibilities include recording, escalating, and monitoring operational risk events and issues; conducting monthly local Enterprise Risk Committee meetings; coordinating and providing independent challenge to annual Risk Control Assessments (RCA); maintaining the event/loss database (Archer); performing ongoing operational risk reporting to senior management and governance committees; participating in due diligence initiatives; and overseeing disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

What you’ll do

·         Work on Archer modules related to Operational Risk, such as Risk events, issues, and Root Cause Analyses (RCAs)

·         Assist with the annual updates of Risk Control Assessments (RCAs)

·         Participate in project work and ad hoc reviews

·         Assist in trainings and provide support to the Enterprise Risk Committee

·         Contribute innovative ideas for the use of AI within team processes

 

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

·         Educational background in Finance including Risk Management module or a related field with a 6-month curricular internship  

·         Advanced competency in Microsoft Office

·         A keen interest in AI and emerging technologies

·         Fluent in written and oral English

 

The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help

 

·         French and/or German would be a plus

·         Prior experience in the asset management business would be advantageous
