Job Summary:

Location : Beijing , China 

The key responsibility of this role is to develop new business and well maintain existing client relationships with China institutional clients. This person should aim to build mutual trust and deep understanding of clients by delivering high-quality client services. This person will report to Head of China Cross-border Business. This person will also engage frequently in coordinating sales activities and marketing events, which help to build up Schroders’s brand and promote Schroders’s investment capabilities. This person should centrally coordinate the pitching proposals and client take-ons with the help of other colleagues.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Sales & Marketing

  • To assist the manager to achieve the China cross-border team’s sales target.
  • To work with the manager to develop and implement business development plans and strategy.
  • To proactively develop businesses and relationships with assigned accounts and new prospects, focusing on OI institutional clients and other institutional client segments such as corporates, pension, financial institutions, and family offices, as assigned by the manager.
  • To understand and keep up-to-date with clients’ investment needs, organizational structures, key persons, selection criteria, decision-making process, existing cooperation, key competitors, pipeline, and record such information into CRM systems, and regularly update account plans.
  • To ascertain gaps and devise appropriate positioning approaches to influence clients to review products.
  • To prepare investment proposals and client pitches by efficiently liaising with internal parties.
  • To facilitate discussion and negotiation of contracts. To coordinate client onboarding, including KYC and account opening, custodian onboarding, agreement negotiation, etc., with the help of client services and other functions.
  • To facilitate business activities, including roadshows, client meetings, management visits, and client trainings.
  • To work closely with Marketing team for client events to strengthen and promote our company profile and client recognition.
  • To understand and keep up-to-date with clients’ needs, China’s financial market landscape, regulatory developments, as well as Schroders’ products range. Identity new business opportunities and product needs.
  • To keep abreast of industry/regulatory developments and competitors’ products.

 

Account Management & Client Services

  • To provide high-quality account management service for the existing accounts.
  • To respond client requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • To identify ways to anticipate and better fulfil client’s requirements by soliciting feedback from clients.
  • To manage internal relationships across distance and time zones to provide professional and excellent service to clients.
