The Finance Team within Schroder Investment Management (Switzerland) AG in Zurich are looking for a financial accountant to support the growing Swiss Asset Management business. The successful candidate will be primarily act as the deputy to the Head of Accounting and Tax, responsible for the production and analysis of accounting data across the Finance function.

Job specification

• Producing reports analysing financial data within core finance systems (Power BI, Oracle & HFM)
• Producing financial reports to the board of management and board of directors
• Producing detailed analysis of trends within financial data
• Running accounting processes to generate journal entries from source systems (sub-ledger systems).
• Processing general ledger journal entries (ORACLE)
• Performing reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
• Booking of cash payments and performing related bank reconciliations
• Preparing regulatory returns and annual financial statements (Swiss accounting standards FER, Swiss Code of Obligation and CISA)
• Supporting the yearly budgeting process
• Acting as initial point of contact for accounting queries from the business and external auditors.
• Monitoring Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable (including billing and intercompany transfer pricing)
• Preparing tax returns and VAT returns, including reconciliation of assessments and payment of invoices
• Acts as the substitute of the Head of Accounting and Tax

Required profile

• Completed higher education in related subjects, ideally combined with a further education
• 2+ years of relevant work experience in the area of Finance/Accounting
• Knowledge of local GAP, IFRS is a plus
• Clear affinity for numbers, strength in financial analysis
• Diligent and controls focused approach with strong attention to detail
• Proficient use of MS Office (particularly Excel)
• Experience of Oracle Fusion or EBS and HFM an advantage
• Fluency in English is a must, German a big plus
• Good interpersonal skills and team player mentality
