Role Overview

 

A new position has been created in our Investment Operations division, to oversee the end to end process of operational due diligence on our external manager appointments and on-going activity in relation to our sub advised business.
The core discipline activities of the role will be to focus on regulatory compliance, strong governance, operational and technology capabilities, as well as investment process and client service interaction with Schroders and the external parties that the external manager will be required to interact with.

 
The Investment Management Oversight Specialist will have responsibility for managing the end to end requirements for the delivery of the operational due diligence process to delivery and on-going management of the oversight of the delegated functions performed by the external manager.

 
Key functions of the role

 
• Control and develop the oversight of the delegated function of portfolio activities and reporting tools in line with market practice and Schroders group governance policies.
• Conduct the initial, on-going and thematic investment manager operational due diligence process for including onsite visits.
• Coordinate the manager due diligence meetings, calls, onsite visits and prepare summaries for internal communication, as appropriate.
• Perform ongoing monitoring of the operational due diligence, including meetings, calls, onsite visits and prepare on-going management summaries for internal communication, as appropriate
• Act as a conduit to resolve and support any issues with the external manager and the external parties as required.
• Compile KPI reporting as required for on-going oversight of the external investment managers.
• To support the investment team in requirements for a change in external investment manager and manage the off-boarding and on-boarding delivery as required.

 

Essential Skills

 

• Experience in the Funds Industry, preferably within an asset management company
• Comprehensive knowledge of the UCITS/OEIC requirements
• Knowledge of operational models with portfolio managers would be an asset
• Experience in due diligence or oversight management would be an asset
• Excellent communication & organisational skills
• Responsible, accountable and reliable self-starter
• Team player and sense of initiative
• Proactive and problem solving
• Good judgment, enthusiasm and willingness to learn
• Good command of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Ready to travel
