Investment Risk Manager – Private Assets

 

 

Who we’re looking for

 

We're looking for an Investment Risk Manager specialising in Private Assets. This role is part of our dynamic team responsible for assessing, monitoring, and reporting on investment risks. This includes managing and overseeing various risk factors related to Schroders' sophisticated private assets portfolios, which include private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and private credit. The successful candidate will work closely with various internal functions across the Group.

What you’ll do

 

·         Implement and oversee a robust risk management framework for private asset investments.

·         Advise the conducting officers and European Investment Risk Committee on the definition of the risk profile of the funds, including the selection of appropriate risk methodologies and definition of relevant set of limits

·         Ensure the funds are in line with their agreed risk profiles as described in the funds’ prospectus and/or other contractual arrangements

·         Timely escalation of significant discrepancies between actual and predefined risk profiles, and advising on remediation plans where required.

·         Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, stress testing, and scenario analyses on private assets.

·         Develop and maintain risk policies and procedures specific to private assets, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

·         Produce regular risk reports highlighting key risk indicators, identifying trends, and analysing potential impacts.

·         Perform timely, consistent, and accurate reporting to the Boards and Committees for the Private Asset funds as required by laws, regulations, policies, and terms of references of Committees.

·         Review, enhance, and streamline our existing risk processes and procedures.

·         Coordinate key strategic projects led by the Investment Risk team.

 

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

·         University degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field

·         Minimum of three years of experience with investment risk oversight and reporting processes or Fund audit assignments in relation to Investment risk or compliance related tasks with a focus on risk management.

·         Fluent in English

·         Excellent numerical and analytical skills

·         Ability to understand product regulation, financial instruments and risk management issues and synthesize knowledge into clear, concise business terms to inform senior management decision-making

·         Clear, logical thinker, able to break down a problem into bite-size components, and plan the required steps of a project to arrive at a solution

 

The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help

 

·         Advanced degrees or professional accreditations such as CAIA, CFA, FRM, are considered advantageous.

·         Programing skills inSQL, and VBA (Access, Excel) a plus
