The base
We moved into our new HQ in the City of London in 2018. We're close to our clients, in the heart of the UK's financial centre. And we have everything we need to work flexibly.


The team
The QEP Investment Team consists of 28 members, located in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and New York. The QEP Team manages $27 bn across a range of global equity strategies, including dedicated EM strategies.
The team is organised across three key functions:
i.    The portfolio management & research team is principally located in London with additional team members based in Sydney and Hong Kong. Its members are responsible for researching new ideas, enhancing existing models and making investment decisions.
ii.    The portfolio implementation team is based in London and is responsible for day-to-day monitoring of client portfolios, implementing portfolio managers' investment decisions and managing cashflows.
iii.    Our dedicated product management team is located in London, Sydney and New York and are specialists in all aspects of our investment process enabling the investment team to focus on research and the management of our client's assets.


What you'll do
•    Contribute to the ongoing development and progress of QEP investment process 
•    Support the team on investment data, including research and interpretation to recommend investable insights.
•    Collaborate within the team and Schroders investment teams on value add projects.


Key Responsibilities
Contributing to the enhancement of investment process
•    Participate in quantitative research projects under the guidance of senior members of the team to identify and drive implementable insights
•    Produce and present well considered research findings and proposals to better reflect risks and opportunities systematically in our investment process

Supporting the team on investment research and data
•    Analyse a broad range of data, including structured and unstructured data, and translate it into investment insights for use within our investment process
•    Manage and monitor investment data and impact, providing support to the rest of investment team including portfolio managers

Collaboration 
•    Work closely with quantitative researchers and portfolio managers to refine our existing investment and research processes in response to business and client needs
•    Build relationships and seek collaboration opportunities with other investment, distribution, product, trading and technology teams
QEP Investment Team: Key Competencies:

QEP Investment Team: Technical Skills & Qualifications:
•    Higher education degree level, preferably in a numeric field and with past research experience 
•    Knowledge of basic portfolio management theories and the asset management industry 
•    Knowledge of any programming language is preferred. A willingness to learn basic programming in SQL is required 


The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
•    Strong understanding of equity factors and modelling techniques
•    Knowledge of and ability to work with investment data at scale
•    Knowledge of statistical techniques to gain insights from data
•    Ability to design, modify and review technical calculations, preferably including optimisation

Reporting Obligations
In discharging their responsibilities the role holder shall 
-    Ensure that their manager  is made aware of any issues which the post holder deems material
-    Provide to their manager, an annual assessment of their own performance against objectives agreed with them
Committee Memberships
-    Where applicable, the role holder must fulfil his/her responsibilities for their Committee Memberships

This role is within an entity/or entities which are covered by the UK's Senior Manager and Certification Regime.  As such, the role holder is required to comply with the following Individual Conduct Rules:

Rule 3: You must be open and cooperative with the FCA, PRA and any other regulators
Rule 4: You must pay due regard to the interests of customers and treat them fairly
