The Base
We are based at 7 Bryant Park in the heart of NYC. And we have everything we need to work flexibly. We operate a hybrid working model, with a requirement that our Sales Director, Sub-Advisory be in the office 3 days per week. This is to sustain our culture of innovation, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and building relationships within the business.
The Team
This is an opportunity to work interdependently with an engaged team that sits within a global Intermediary function at a global asset management firm.
Position Overview
As an integral member of the Subadvisory Client Group team, the ideal candidate will cultivate new and existing relationships with leading insurance and mutual fund providers to market Schroders’ investment products. To drive top line growth, you would be responsible for the following:
- Provide consultative expertise on Schroders’ investment strategies to assigned clients and prospects
- Develop and execute a well-organized business plan to increase assets under management and drive overall revenue growth
- Identify, develop and maintain relationships across senior leadership, research, distribution and operational roles with prospective and existing Subadvisory clients
- Generate and develop new business pipeline opportunities and establish Schroders as a trusted source for client and prospect inquiries to effectively market the Schroders’ brand
- Success in this position requires a well-developed, proven ability to achieve results by solving client needs. The qualified candidate will have experience executing high-value presentations and can demonstrate a strong aptitude for insurance product design, investment portfolio construction and asset allocation decision making. A thorough understanding of capital markets will be necessary.
Responsibilities
Sales Responsibility (80%)
- Develop and execute on a well-constructed business plan to promote long-term growth objectives
- Work closely with investment teams to maintain high level of investment strategy process, philosophy and positioning
- Within assigned client and prospect firms, identify key areas of opportunity to promote Schroders’ strategies and cultivate new business
- Meet or exceed assigned gross sales and net sales goals
General Responsibilities (20%)
- Maintain consistent and systematic client contact as demonstrated through Salesforce relationship management system
- Collaborate within the Subadvisory and Insurance team to provide on-going sales support, strategy updates and marketing deliverables
- Operate with a high level of professionalism, accountability, and collaboration with colleagues, clients and prospects
- Travel extensively within assigned territory and manage allocated travel and expense budget properly
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 7+ years working in a business development capacity within the asset management industry.
- Strong capital markets and financial services knowledge
- Series 7 license
- Board level oral and written communications skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel up to 70% of the time (International travel may be necessary)
Preferred Qualifications
- Established relationships with both insurance and mutual fund providers strongly preferred
- Able to work on own initiative with limited direction within a team environment
- Thorough and attentive to detail
- The ability to apply the principles of analytical and logical thinking to define problems, interpret data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Compensation
Schroders offers a base salary in a range of $200,000 to $225,000 for this position.
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
