Programme overview:
Schroders’ two-year apprenticeship programmes give school and college leavers a hands-on introduction to investment management and the opportunity to develop key skills, gain professional qualifications and build an industry network. We have a wide range of opportunities across our business.
About the Role:
Join us as an Investment Apprentice and embark on a rewarding journey that offers the flexibility to work in one of several key areas within our investment function. You will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to our operations in areas such as Investment Product Support or Equities Investment Implementation. Each path offers unique experiences and essential roles within our investment operations.
Examples of Business Areas:
- Equities Investment Implementation:
- Join the EMD (Emerging Market Debt) and Commodities Team to assist with the daily implementation of EMD (Emerging Market Debt) and Commodity funds.
- Work closely with Implementation Managers and Fund Managers on portfolio positioning, cash management, and trade execution.
- Support the team with maintaining EMD (Emerging Market Debt) and Commodity portfolios, collaborating with the Investment team, Operations, and Client Service teams for seamless integration with trading and liquidity management.
- Investment Product Support:
- Be part of the Equities Investment Product Support team, acting as a central conduit between the Investment and Client Group functions.
- Focus on promoting and managing the product range while maintaining excellence in investment performance and client service.
- Participate in key services such as client and fund reporting, data management, marketing compliance, and business development to support successful equities operations in London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide operational support to your designated team, ensuring precise implementation of investment strategies and decisions.
- Collaborate effectively across departments to facilitate communication and improve investment efficiency.
- Engage actively in projects aimed at optimising processes and enhancing client experience.
- Develop expertise in financial analysis, reporting, and stakeholder engagement
Investment20/20
You will join as an apprentice as part of the Investment20/20 programme. You will have opportunities to meet and network with trainees and apprentices across the industry, as well as participate in technical skills training, socials and insight events.
Who we’re looking for
- Recent school or college graduates with A-levels or BTECs.
- Individuals unsure that university is the path for them.
- Must be 18 years old by 1st September to apply for the 2025 intake.
- Living in England.
- Must not be enrolled in another funded apprenticeship or further education programme at the time of starting.
- Ambitious and enthusiastic self-starter, eager to learn about the industry.
- Flexible with a keen eye for detail and good IT skills.
- Natural flair for developing relationships and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Qualifications required:
· A-levels (or equivalent) in any subjects – no minimum UCAS points required.
· Level 2 in both English and Maths (GCSE grade A* to C or equivalent) for those undertaking a level 3 or higher apprenticeship.
