Who we're looking for


Schroders Capital is the private asset division of Schroders, providing investors with access to a broad range of private asset investment opportunities, portfolio building blocks and customised private asset strategies. To support continuing growth of Schroders Capital, we are looking for a Business Analyst, capable of providing analysis that supports a wide range of projects across the division.


The individual will analyse existing operating models and processes and define requirements for change that deliver greater efficiency and leaner processes, whilst complying with regulatory requirements.


We require an individual with drive and who possesses excellent analytical skills, capable of working independently, albeit with some direction. The individual will also have very good communication skills and be able to quickly assimilate information and present it in a very clear way. 


We are looking for a friendly and approachable person who enjoys collaborating with people from a variety of backgrounds. As this is an expanding team in a growing area of the business, the individual will need to be comfortable with ambiguity and change.  They should also be receptive to others’ ideas and respond constructively to challenges.


The Business Analyst will be accountable to the Head of Change in Schroders Capital, but will also work significantly with business sponsors and the Technology team.

The base

The team


You will be part of a small but growing change team at Schroders Capital, established in 2022. The team drives change within Schroders Capital and its business areas (Private Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure, Private Debt and Credit Alternatives). As Schroders Capital is a growing area of the business, the change team has the unique opportunity to design and deliver solutions to support the business’s growth strategy.


What you'll do


Involvement in a range of consultancy/project assignments and other activities which may include:


Business Analysis:


•    Writing business requirements that reflect the business needs
•    Capturing the current state of business processes
•    Assessing the current gaps and issues in that current state to inform future state design
•    Assess the same processes that are performed in different parts of Schroders Capital to determine where they are the same and highlight any differences exist.

Operating Models: 


•    The creation of Target Operating Models (TOMs) for discrete business domains and functions, using standard Schroders methodology
•    Business analysis to support capability design, process analysis and organisational transformation

Change Management:


•    Play a key role in the delivery of projects
•    Build positive relationships with senior stakeholders 
•    Advisory to the Steering Committee for projects / programmes of work 
•    Partnering with business and programme teams to clarify priorities, design governance, and TOM implementation activities.


  
Team Development


•    Contribute positively to the culture of the wider Change Management community with positive participation in assignments and business development work
•    Contribute to the agenda for the team through participating in service proposition design, thought leadership and the injection of innovative ideas and ways of thinking
•    Contribute to building an effective knowledge base that benefits the whole team
•    Challenge conventional wisdom and freely expressing their own opinion.


 
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need


Candidates for this role should be:


•    Self-starters with ability to prioritise and manage own activities in the best interests of the organisation
•    Analytical, strategic thinkers who can digest large amounts of complex information and distil insights down to concise clear outputs
•    Collaborative team player who will want to succeed as part of a high performing team
•    Effective relationship builders, who can develop strong relationships across the whole organisation, and establish a role as trusted advisor to Heads of Departments and Business Change Managers
•    Strong communicators, with the gravitas to present to senior business and IT stakeholders.

Candidates for this should have:

•    Over 5 years of experience as a business analyst ideally in an investment/asset management environment
•    Experience of project management methodologies and playing a role in large and complex project work.
•    An understanding and experience of iterative delivery methodologies, such as Agile and Scaled Agile
•    Understanding of change management disciplines, processes and tools, such as:

•    The key stages and lifecycle of change delivery
•    Stakeholder Management
•    Planning and progress tracking mechanisms
•    Monitoring and managing issues, risks and dependencies
•    Governance and reporting

The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help


•    Experience and knowledge of Private Assets.
•    Basic professional qualifications relating to the asset management industry (IMC, FAI)
•    Relevant Change Management qualifications (e.g. Agile/Scrum, Prince II)
