The primary responsibility of this role is to support the OTC Derivative Confirmations process for the Global Investment teams. The position requires extensive liaison with our broker counterparties, internal stakeholders and external service providers for the electronic and paper confirmation processes; Ensuring that all matching breaks are investigated and resolved in a timely manner.In addition the team is responsible for keeping up to date with derivative related market changes and communicating these to the relevant Investment teams.

The team
Derivative Support team sits within Investment Services reporting to the Investment COO and has a remit covering all European and US portfolios trading OTC Derivatives.

What you’ll do 
Key responsibilities include:

  • Process the OTC derivative electronic and paper confirmation for the LDI and Structured Funds teams, London and New York Fixed Income and Multi Asset teams, the Commodities/ EMD and Equities teams;
  • Contacting counterparties to obtain legal confirmations;
  • Ensure that all matching breaks are investigated and resolved in a timely manner;
  • Provide MIS daily, weekly and monthly for senior management;
  • Monitor industry notifications referencing CDS events, and monitor the end to end credit event process;
  • Monitor the electronic affirmation, confirmation and clearing processes. Ensure that all matching breaks are investigated and resolved in a timely manner;
  • Ensure that risks are identified early and communicated appropriately to management.
  • Establish strong relationships with internal departments and external counterparties. Work effectively with teammates to prioritise work and ensure deadlines are met. Communicate appropriately and effectively with internal clients to manage expectations when necessary and 
  • Ensure procedures and contact lists are kept up to date and assist in creating robust procedures for new systems and processes.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need 

  • OTC Derivatives experience and 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help 

  • Previous knowledge of Markitwire, DTCC and Aladdin is desirable but not essential and 
  • Previous experience of reviewing long form confirmations and MCA’s in line with relevant ISDA Master Agreements desired.
