Job Description:
The Financial Accountant will be based in Shanghai, focusing on financial management for China and regional private assets and China wealth management businesses. This position reports functionally to the Regional Financial Controller based in Hong Kong and locally to the Chief Administrative Officer of China.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy Support:
Provide hands-on financial analysis and support in developing business strategies, including budgeting, financial forecasting, cash flow management, and capital requirements. Serve as the primary contact for finance-related matters in private assets and wealth management. - Monthly Financial Reporting:
Execute the preparation and analysis of monthly financial reports for Schroders’ entities in China, including: - Reviewing and analysing financial statements
- Submitting financial data to the Group in compliance with company policies and IFRS
- Preparing and ensuring timely regulatory submissions to local authorities
- Contributing to monthly, quarterly, interim, and year-end disclosures to the Group
- Tax and Treasury Management:
- Manage banking relationships in collaboration with the Group Treasurer and APAC Finance.
- Oversee cash flow management, ensuring effective treasury and cash controls.
- Handle regulatory compliance and working capital levels, coordinating necessary approvals for additional capital when required.
- Liaise with external tax consultants to ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and reports.
- Finance Operations:
Work closely with outsourced service providers and the local finance team on accounts payable, accounts receivable, fee billing, and balance sheet reconciliations. - Support Regional Private Assets Initiatives:
Assist the Regional Financial Controller with APAC private assets initiatives, including entity structure design, new entity setup, business forecasting, stakeholder engagement, and tax-related matters. - Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate in the implementation of Group and regional projects and policies.
- Ensure a strong control environment and effective reporting processes.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
Over 6 years of experience in financial service industry.
Big 4 background with auditing experience on PE firms, or PE in-house finance background is preferred.
Comprehensive PE industry knowledge, proficient in PE financial accounting standards and tax rules.
CICPA is preferred.
